compulsive? moi?
Sometimes I see the way my husband looks at me. I can't help myself. I could not stop making these things. I've tried three different tissue holder tutorials but keep going back to the original five-minute pattern. If you're going to, like, start an Etsy business selling tissue holders, then this technique is not polished enough (what with the unfinished inside seams and all) but for my purposes it is perfection. I have two extra tissue holders, which means it's giveaway time. A.K.A. a blatant shill for comments. Say hello (but not anonymously. I can't email you back if you comment anonymously.) if you'd like one.

Nicole, those are so cute! Thanks for linking to the tutorial: even though I don't own a sewing machine, it looks simple enough that I may try my hand at handsewing to make one!
I've been meaning to comment and email you for what seems like forever - I'm sorry I simply interrupted our email conversation so abruptly, but the last few months have been quite a bit trying over here... But I've been following your adventures (here and on the shop blog) with great interest. Now I'm kind of sorry I get back to you on a giveaway day - looks cheap, doesn't it? :)
Anyways, before this comment gets way too long, I'll simply add that I'll email you as soon as a few things clear up...
Good luck with Bell! They can be a pain to deal with... I hope the rest of what you have to do before the shop opens will be a piece of cake after that!

They are so cute! I totally understand the getting hooked on something. I get the same looks from my family sometimes! Good to keep 'em guessing though, right?
Hi Nicole,
I'm a stocker of your blog and a few others.I have never left a comment before, but a giveaway is the perfect time to start putting my 2 cents in!! I love to read about your shop and the adorable parties etc you have for your children. I guess I enjoy it so much because I can identify with everything you write about. I too love to cook, craft, thrift, sew, plan parties and even collect old children's books- I recently picked up an amazing old reader in California called "Peppermint Fence" -what a great name for a children's shop!? Also picked up a 1941 addition of "Make Way For Ducklings" at Goodwill. These things make me sooo happy and it's cool to see there are others out there who appreciate the same things. Being a stay at home mom who loves old fashioned parties and children's books isn't always easy or "cool" today, but seeing that I'm not alone is comforting.Best of luck with the shop-I'll come for a visit when your open.

I feel a cold coming on!
I bookmarked that five-minute tutorial some time ago but I guess I have found those five minutes elusive. Or maybe it's that I know that a sewing project that takes everyone else five minutes is bound to take me half an hour, twenty minutes of which is consumed with swearing and spluttering. Anyway, I haven't made my own tissue holders yet, so it would be a treat to win one of yours!
